Premier League injury news: Liverpool handed huge boost ahead of Arsenal showdown

Liverpool are only eighth in the Premier League, but the Reds are top of one table…

…PhysioRoom.com’s injury table

Jordon Ibe, Philippe Coutinho, Dejan Lovren, Mamadou Sakho, Jordan Henderson, Divock Origi, Martin Skrtel, Jordan Rossiter, Joe Gomez, Danny Ings and – of course – Daniel Sturridge are all currently crocked.

Of the players named above, Ibe is the only one expected to be fit in time for Wednesday’s home game against Arsenal.

However, not all of the pre-game injury news is bad for Liverpool.

The Reds should be boosted by Arsene Wenger’s Monday-morning revelation that Alexis Sanchez is set to miss out.

Arsenal’s 2014-15 Player of the Season has sat out of the Gunners’ last eight games in all competitions. He is close to making his comeback, but that won’t happen until Sunday – when Wenger’s men visit Stoke City – at the earliest.

Wenger told Sky Sports: “Maybe he will be [fit] for Sunday.”

Sanchez is not the only Arsenal player who is ruled out of Wednesday’s game through injury. Francis Coquelin, Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky and Danny Welbeck are also unavailable.
