EPL side watching lower-league starlet as potential replacement for Arsenal, Liverpool transfer target

Leicester City are keeping tabs on Walsall’s Rico Henry as a possible replacement for Ben Chilwell.

Left-back Chilwell has courted interest from Premier League heavyweights Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur in recent weeks, with the Telegraph suggesting that all three domestic giants are considering a move for the wonderkid.

Leicester are keen to tie the defender down to a new deal after realising that he only makes £800 per week and in order to see off the attentions of some of the division’s bigger guns.

The Yorkshire Post also suggested that Newcastle United are watching Chilwell, although it remains to be seen how much Leicester will demand for the highly rated youngster, having already rejected a £3.5 million bid from Arsenal, according to the source.

However, the Foxes are understood to be considering their options should Chilwell depart, and are understood to be considering Walsall’s Henry, according to the Daily Mail.

The 18-year-old also has fair share of suitors, with Liverpool and Tottenham, as well as Wolves, Derby County and Brighton and Hove Albion are also watching the League One teen.
