Liverpool ace doesn’t believe Jurgen Klopp needs January reinforcements

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson has revealed his belief that the club can wait until the summer to strengthen their squad as they enough quality to do well this season.

His comments come as it is expected that coach Jurgen Klopp will begin his overhaul of the side in the summer as he continues to put his mark on the club.

It remains to be seen how many of the current group continue to play an important role for the former Dortmund boss, but Henderson believes that they must give their all for the rest of this season and then welcome additions in the summer.

“Football teams will always look to strengthen, always look to improve, but us as players we just have to give everything for now and try to win as many games, put in as many performances as possible,” he said, as reported by The Daily Mail.

“I really believe we have a good squad of players but we need to be winning.”

Liverpool fell to a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Manchester United at Anfield on Sunday, which leaves them eight points adrift of the Champions League places.

Qualifying for Europe’s premier competition would undoubtedly help Klopp’s recruitment drive in the summer, and so ultimately Henderson is remaining focused on the task in hand rather than be distracted by speculation.

Klopp has enjoyed mixed results since arriving at Anfield last year, and it is widely acknowledged that he will bring in several new faces in the summer who are capable of playing within his system and style more comprehensively.
