Manchester United wonderkid Marcus Rashford could appear to be on the brink of an unlikely spot in Roy Hodgson’s England plans for the 2016 European Championships.

According to The Guardian, the attacker could be set to make his debut for the Three Lions within the coming weeks, and finds himself firmly in the manager’s considerations after his bright showings this season.

The broadsheet note that Hodgson and his team are so impressed with Rashford’s form for the Red Devils that they have invited him to train with the national side in their upcoming international friendlies.

This would explain why the 18-year-old was overlooked for the England U-21 squad for the Toulon Tournoi in the south of France this summer            .

While Rashford has doubtless impressed on occasion this season—and is enjoying a fine breakout campaign—it remains to be seen whether he is ready for a spot in the Three Lions’ squad for Euro 2016.
