Transfer news: Jamie Vardy-Arsenal decision delayed; Zlatan announcement teased for Tuesday

Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy did not make a concrete decision on his future before jetting off to France for Euro 2016, according to Sky Sports.

Sky Sports understands that Arsenal have triggered Vardy’s £20m release clause and have been in talks with the 29-year-old over moving to the Emirates.

Nationwide reports suggested that the former non-league forward would choose where he will be playing next season before taking flight with England today.

But Sky Sports claims that the Three Lions international is yet to finalise his decision, and that an announcement on his fate is no longer imminent.

Meanwhile another blockbuster Premier League transfer could be confirmed on Tuesday, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic having teased ‘a major announcement’.

The Swedish striker has been heavily tipped by Sky Sports to join Manchester United on a short-term contract after his time at Paris Saint-Germain ended.

Ibrahimovic, 34, is launching his own clothing brand tomorrow, but could choose this opportune moment to confirm that he is indeed Old Trafford bound.

“There will be a big announcement on June 7. It will be this summer’s big bomb,” he is quoted by Sky Sports as saying: “It feels good, feels better than good. A lot will happen with this news, so hopefully you’ll all enjoy.”

When pushed on his destination following his exit from PSG, he added: “Come and see on the 7th.”
