The results of Euro 2016 Group D are in:

Turkey finished third but have a solid chance of going to the Round of 16 thanks to their position on the third-place table.

Czech Republic have been eliminated.

Croatia pulled off one of the surprise upsets of Euro 2016 by overcoming Spain with two goals to beat the defending Euro champions 2-1. In doing so they took seven points and first-place in the group.

Spain had dispatched Turkey and the Czech Republic by a combined score of 4-0 but were stunned by Croatia in the final minutes of their game. As a result, Spain will play Italy in the Round of 16.

Turkey had failed to score a goal in their losses to Croatia and Spain, but a 2-0 victory over Czech Republic was all they needed to secure a third-place spot. As of writing they are third on the third-place table, which means they will go through to the next round unless both third-place teams from Groups E and F beat them this week.

If not for the last five minutes of a game, the Czech Republic would have had four points and a guaranteed top-three spot. But Turkey didn’t let the Czech or goalkeeper Petr Cech have any breaks in this one and beat them for two goals – eliminating them in the process.
