Highly-rated starlet reveals he’s in dark over Manchester United move

Hirving Lozano has conceded that he’s unaware of any interest from Manchester United despite speculation linking him with a move to England.

The 20-year-old has scored 21 goals in 91 appearances in Liga MX, and in turn was said to have attracted interest from United by Pachuca vice-president Andres Fassi who claimed that negotiations were taking place between the two clubs, as noted by Sky Sports.

While Lozano will now focus his attention on the Mexican national side at the Olympics in Rio later this summer, he has insisted that he isn’t aware of any interest from any club in Europe.

“It’s nice to hear people talk about a potential move to Manchester United, but it would have been better if it was actually a fact,” Lozano told Mexican website record.com.

“I don’t know anything about United’s interest. If the club tell me anything, then we will see, but I don’t know anything about it at this stage.

“I am at Pachuca now and we will see what happens in the future.”

It’s unclear as to whether the Mexican international forms part of Jose Mourinho’s plans in the transfer market, as the Portuguese tactician is arguably looking for more established and experienced individuals at this point in his tenure.

Having insisted that he will sign four players this summer in his introductory press conference this week, as noted by Sky Sports, that would suggest that he has one more new face to add having already brought in Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Eric Bailly.

The identity of the fourth signing has yet to be revealed, but in a summer in which the ‘Special One’ is overseeing big changes at the club, it is more than likely to be another high-profile player as opposed to Lozano who would be a risk at this point given that he’s still raw and yet to prove himself at a high level.
