Liverpool misfit agrees personal terms with Premier League rivals

Liverpool striker Christian Benteke has reportedly agreed personal terms with Crystal Palace and is pushing to complete a move to Selhurst Park.

The Belgian international moved to Merseyside last summer in a £32.5m deal from Aston Villa, but failed to have the desired impact.

Having struggled to adapt and fit into the style of play under either Brendan Rodgers or Jurgen Klopp, it appears as though the Premier League giants are ready to finally offload him, according to The Mirror.

It is claimed that all parties concerned are confident that a deal will be completed this week, even as soon as Monday, with the Eagles continuing their summer splurge.

Alan Pardew has already signed Steve Mandanda, James Tomkins and Andros Townsend this summer, and it appears as though he’s set to add another striker to his squad too as he has ambitious plans for next season.

Benteke scored 10 goals and produced six assists in 42 appearances in all competitions last season, and in turn it’s no surprise that Liverpool are keen to move him on as Klopp looks to stamp his mark on the squad.

It’s in stark contrast to the form he showed at Villa Park, where he established himself as a prolific Premier League forward capable of producing for a top club.

However, Liverpool will now be eager to get as much back as possible on their initial £32.5m outlay, and it appears as though they could get close to it with Palace willing to splash out on the Belgian forward as the Reds hold out for £32m.

Palace and Liverpool are yet to finalise an agreement on the transfer fee, but the suggestion that Benteke has agreed personal terms is a clear sign that things are moving in a positive direction with a transfer likely to be completed next week if all goes well in negotiations.
