The Mirror reports that a deal for Pogba would cost United £100m, but they could save some money if Mata goes to Juventus in part exchange.
The appointment of Mourinho as manager has basically signalled the end of the Spaniard’s United career after 26 goals in 104 games for the club.
The Special One sold Mata to United when he was Chelsea boss because he did not have the physicality he wanted in his midfield, and The Mirror understands that he maintains the same opinion.
The Mirror make Everton favourites to sign the 28-year-old, but a swap involving Pogba would allow Mata to continue to play at the highest level.
