Liverpool must reduce their asking price if they want to sell Christian Benteke this summer his agent Eris Kismet revealed.

Speaking to Emre Sarigul, the agent stated that clubs interested in Benteke are struggling to match his asking price and that a transfer is unlikely unless his valuation is reduced.

“Liverpool want to sell Benteke but clubs that are interested as unable to match his valuation,” Kismet said.

“Liverpool would probably have to reduce their asking price if a transfer is to go ahead.”

Liverpool have already rejected a £25m bid from Crystal Palace according to the Daily Mail but remain determined to stick at their asking price.

The Echo report that Liverpool want £32.5 million for the Belgium international striker and that Jurgen Klopp will not accept anything below.

Benteke does not feature in Klopp’s plans for Liverpool next season but he did manager to net 10 goals in 42 first-team appearances for the Reds in his first season.

The 25-year-old striker joined the Reds on a big money move from Aston Villa last season and still has another five-years remaining on his contract.
