Crystal Palace striker Christian Benteke turned down a £45 million bid from China according to the Express.

Per the source, Benteke was approached by the Chinese Super League his time at Liverpool back in but rejected the chance to move to the far-east.

The Chinese Super League club that made the bid last January are not named but Benteke reportedly turned down the offer as he wanted to remain in one of Europe’s top leagues.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp had a summer clear out getting rid of several big names such as Benteke and Mario Balotelli as well as veteran players such as Martin Skrtel who joined Turkish giants Fenerbahce.

Benteke ended up joining Palace on a £32 million move last month after a disappointing season at Liverpool following his switch from Aston Villa last summer.

Benteke made his Palace debut against Blackpool in the League Cup and also starred in the 1-1 draw with Bournemouth last week in the Premier League.
