Chelsea are preparing to launch a bid for the Burnley defender Michael Keane, according to the Mirror.

The report goes onto state that Chelsea are lining up a £25 million bid for Keane, who they view as a long-term replacement for John Terry.

Keane joined Burnley from Manchester United for just £2m back in January 2015, on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

The 23-year-old – who two years remaining on his current deal with Burnley – played a key role in his sides promotion to the Premier League last season.

Chelsea will be looking to return to winning ways this weekend when they take on the newly promoted Hull City. Antonio Conte’s sides are without a win in their last three league games.

Keane has scored one goal in six appearances for Burnley this season.
