The LFC team news is in ahead of tonight’s EFL Cup quarter-final against Leeds United at Anfield.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has named teenagers Trent Alexander-Arnold and Ovie Ejaria in his starting XI, but there is also a strong senior contingent.

Brazil international Lucas Leiva captains the side from centre-back, while first-team regulars Emre Can, Georginio Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane play further forward.

Divock Origi starts up front as Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge are given the night off.

The only striker on Liverpool’s subs bench is 17-year-old Ben Woodburn, who made his Premier League debut off the bench in Saturday’s 2-0 win over Sunderland.

Liverpool are unbeaten in their last seven games against Leeds, who currently sit fifth in the Championship.

Like Klopp, Leeds manager Garry Monk has also rotated his squad.

Cup goalkeeper Marco Silvestri, who has not played a single minute of league football this, starts for the Yorkshire side, leaving no.1 stopper Rob Green on the bench.
