Barcelona see €35m bid rejected, €147m deal to be explained in unveiling on Monday

Barcelona have reportedly had a €35m bid for Angel Di Maria turned down by Paris Saint-Germain as the Catalan giants eye further reinforcements.

Having splashed out on Ousmane Dembele this week, it’s questionable as to how much money is left in the transfer kitty for Barcelona as they continue to strengthen the squad after the loss of Neymar.

According to AS, they have offered €35m for Di Maria, but PSG have rejected that bid and seemingly have no intention to sell the 31-year-old.

Given the tense relations between the two clubs after the Neymar saga, it remains unclear as to whether they will sit back down at the negotiation table to thrash out a deal for the Argentine international, who would arguably be a welcome addition alongside the likes of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Dembele to give coach Ernesto Valverde plenty of options.

However, for now, it seems as though the discussion has stopped with PSG keen to keep hold of Di Maria, leaving Barcelona to consider whether or not to make an improved bid.

Elsewhere, Mundo Deportivo have reported that the deal to take Dembele to the Nou Camp could end up costing Barca €147m in total.

The 20-year-old arrived in an initial €105m move, but they could end up forking out an additional €42m in bonuses for the French international.

Dembele will be unveiled by the Catalan giants on Monday, and it’s added in the report that the details of the transfer will be explained by the club’s hierarchy at the press conference to give more clarity to supporters over how the move will work.
