Barcelona offered chance to land €25m star to address problem area

For one reason or another, Barcelona left-back Lucas Digne has seemingly had a rough time with speculation over his standing at the club.

According to Don Balón earlier this month, as re-reported by The Express, Luis Suarez was the latest Barcelona star to allegedly express a desire to see the Frenchman leave.

It’s difficult for any player to compete with and try to fill the shoes of Jordi Alba, and it seems as though the former Roma and Paris Saint-Germain ace has failed to do so which has led to the suggestions above of key individuals becoming frustrated with him.

The 24-year-old has made 41 appearances for the Catalan giants over the last 18 months, but according to Sport, it’s claimed that he could now be replaced by PSG’s Layvin Kurzawa.

It’s reported that the 25-year-old is valued at around €25m, but importantly, Sport claim that he has in fact been offered to Barcelona ahead of the summer transfer window.

Again, Kurzawa would have the same issues to deal with in that he will have to prove that he’s capable of adapting and fitting in at the Nou Camp, while he won’t be guaranteed a starting spot with Alba’s continued presence in the squad.

In truth, it’s difficult to understand how it’s a sensible move for him, as although Sport note he has his problems at PSG currently, he’ll seemingly encounter the same thing at Barcelona and perhaps have less playing time.

As a result, it remains to be seen whether or not such a move materialises. On one hand it’s easy to see the sense in it, but the other would suggest that it really isn’t much of a priority for Barca especially when taking a look at the La Liga standings and their form this season with either Alba or Digne involved.
