Real Madrid devise plan to sign Chelsea duo in potential transfer blow for Liverpool

Real Madrid are reportedly ready to offer Marco Asensio to Chelsea as part of their plan to seal the transfers of both Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard.

The Blues pair are both high priority transfer targets for Real Madrid president Florentino Perez this summer and he’d be willing to part with Asensio to get their prices down, according to Don Balon.

This report doesn’t make it entirely clear if Real would try to offer the Spain international in an exchange deal involving both players or just one, but it does claim both are on Perez’s agenda in some form or other.

This could end up being bad news for Liverpool following another Don Balon report that they were leading the chase against Chelsea to sign Asensio.

Marco Asensio could be on his way out of Real Madrid amid Liverpool and Chelsea transfer interest

The Spanish outlet claimed at the time that the Reds were showing the strongest interest in the talented 22-year-old as they were keen to land a replacement for Real Madrid target Sadio Mane.

This followed yet another report from Don Balon that the Senegal international has become a target for Los Blancos, though if they were to bring in Hazard from Chelsea, they might not need both.

This could then work in Liverpool’s favour as they wouldn’t need Asensio as urgently, though Jurgen Klopp could definitely do with another attacking midfielder after Philippe Coutinho’s move to Barcelona in January.
