Bayern Munich are reportedly prepared to pay around £70million to seal the transfer of Barcelona forward Ousmane Dembele this summer.
The France international has not made the most of convincing starts at Barca, but previously shone in the Bundesliga with Bayern’s rivals Borussia Dortmund.
According to Don Balon, Bayern are now interested in bringing Dembele back to Germany in a £70m deal, but he has previously been linked with Manchester United as well.
Another Don Balon report has claimed United are interested in offering Anthony Martial to Barcelona in exchange for Dembele, but it remains to be seen which of these would be seen as the more tempting proposal for the Catalan giants.
The 21-year-old could be a useful signing for Bayern as they look to rebuild for the future, replacing ageing stars like Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben in attack.
Still, it could also be a gamble as there’s no guarantee he’ll get back to his best, and that his previous form with Dortmund wasn’t just a flash in the pan.
This could be a blow to United, however, who also look in need of replacing their current crop of wide-forwards, such as the aforementioned Martial who could reportedly make way in the deal.
