Double exit: Barcelona duo linked with departures to join Premier League side

Barcelona boss Ernesto Valverde could reportedly be set to see more players leave this summer with Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne linked with moves to Everton.

The Catalan giants have already lost Andres Iniesta and Paulinho, although they have since made deals for Arthur and Clement Lenglet official to bolster two key areas of the pitch, as seen below.

The signing of Lenglet may be problematic for Mina in particular though, as after the Colombian international struggled to make an impression behind Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti in the second half of last season, Lenglet arguably pushes him further down the pecking order.

In turn, coupled with his impressive showings at the World Cup, he will be desperate for a more prominent role while Digne has also struggled to obtain regular minutes at the Nou Camp behind Jordi Alba.

According to The Mirror, they could both now be handed an opportunity of a fresh start in England with Everton being linked with a double swoop for the Barcelona duo this summer as Marco Silva looks to stamp his mark on the group.

Should the Toffees land both targets, it would certainly bolster their backline as they look to kick on under Silva and climb the Premier League table next season after finishing eighth last year.

As for Barcelona, Mina is perhaps expendable with Lenglet in mind along with Thomas Vermaelen who can act as a back up option to play as a centre-half. However, should they choose to sell Digne too, it doesn’t leave them with a great deal of cover for Alba in the event the Spaniard picks up an injury or a suspension.

In turn, that perhaps would be a concern for Valverde as he looks to mastermind their bid for multiple trophies next season after securing a domestic double in his first season in charge.
