Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois is reportedly ‘more than close’ to completing a £30million transfer to Real Madrid in a worrying development for the Blues.
The Belgium international has long been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge as he heads into the final year of his contract, and it now seems as though he’s definitely on his way out.
Spanish publication Marca sound confident that Courtois is on his way to Madrid for just £30m, with the 26-year-old set to be out of contract with CFC at the end of next season.
That looks an absolute bargain for Real Madrid, who could do with an upgrade on Keylor Navas as their number one, and Courtois is undoubtedly one of the best in the world in that position.
While it’s a blow for Chelsea to lose a proven, experienced performer like Courtois on the cheap, it’s been reported that the club could have a top class replacement lined up.
According to Sky Italia, as translated by the Metro, Roma ‘keeper Alisson is Maurizio Sarri’s preferred target to replace Courtois if he does leave.
