How Liverpool could line up next season following £150M+ summer spending spree

With the defence sorted, here’s where the tricky decisions are set to be made.

The centre of the park is where Liverpool easily have the most depth in, with Jurgen Klopp set to have all of Milner, Jordan Henderson, Naby Keita, Fabinho, Georginio Wijnaldum and Adam Lallana to pick from this season.

With Henderson being club captain, one would presume that he’s going to start every possible game for the Reds in all major competitions.

This now leaves two spots open if the Reds are going to play the same 4-3-3 formation they deployed last season.

With the ability he has at his disposal, and his familiarity with playing a high-pressing style from his days with RB Leipzig, Keita, who cost £48M as per the Independent, would be the perfect player to start in a midfield three for Klopp this year.

Keita’s high-octane play style should see him fit in perfectly with Klopp’s side

This leaves just one position left, and following his move from Monaco this summer, it would surely have to go to Fabinho, who cost the club an initial fee of £39M as per BBC, as he would provide fantastic options defensively and offensively in the middle of the park for the Reds.

It’s a shame to see stars like Wijnaldum and Lallana have to miss out on a starting spot, however with the club in all four major competitions this year, we’re sure the fringe players will get the chances to impress Klopp in the early rounds of those.
