Real Madrid in advanced talks to finalise £35million transfer that could be made official this week

Real Madrid are reportedly in advanced talks to seal the transfer of Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois in a deal that could be made official this week.

This is according to Don Balon, following plenty of speculation that the Belgium international would likely be on his way to the Bernabeu this summer.

Courtois has come down to the final year of his Chelsea contract, putting the Blues under more pressure to sell the 26-year-old on the cheap in what is far from an ideal start for new manager Maurizio Sarri.

Goal recently claimed talks over a £35million deal taking Courtois to Madrid were on hold but still likely to go through once Chelsea found a replacement.

There is not exactly much news on that front just yet, despite a number of names being linked with CFC in that position, but Don Balon suggest things are set to go through in the coming days.

Courtois has been Chelsea’s number one since returning from an impressive loan stint at Atletico Madrid in 2014 and it now looks like he’s set for a return to the Spanish capital.

Sky Sports have linked Chelsea with Kasper Schmeichel and Petr Cech as potential replacements.
