Bayern Munich star responds to Arsenal transfer rumours

Bayern Munich winger Kingsley Coman has responded to recent Arsenal transfer rumours by ruling out a switch to the Emirates Stadium.

According to the Metro, Arsenal’s new manager Unai Emery is in the market for a pacey and direct attacker in the mould of Coman, with his fellow Frenchman Ousmane Dembele also said to be on their radar this summer.

Coman, however, insists there is nothing to the transfer speculation and insists he plans to stay with current club Bayern for a long time.

‘That’s not true. I’ve had no contact with Arsenal,’ Coman told Sport1, as translated by the Metro.

‘I’ve just extended my contract here at Bayern and I’m planning to stay for many more years.’

This is certainly a blow for Arsenal, who could do with more spark and quality in the final third after relying for so long on unconvincing performers like Alex Iwobi and Danny Welbeck in the wide areas.

Coman would surely be a major upgrade, with the 22-year-old establishing himself as one of Europe’s finest young attacking midfield players in recent times.

The Frenchman seems like he could be a great fit in the Premier League as well, so Arsenal fans will hope something more can come of this story and that he can be persuaded to change his mind about a move to north London.
