Jack Grealish boost for Aston Villa after crucial Tottenham update as brother rubbishes report

Jack Grealish will reportedly stay at Aston Villa beyond the transfer deadline after it was reported that Tottenham won’t make another bid for the talented ace.

The 22-year-old was a pivotal part of Steve Bruce’s side last season as they fell agonisingly short in their bid to earn promotion back to the Premier League.

Having continued to show his importance in their season-opening 3-1 win over Hull City on Monday night, Villa will undoubtedly be desperate to keep hold of their youth product and hope that he can inspire them to promotion this time round.

With that in mind, it appears as though they could get their wish as Sky Sports have reported that Tottenham will not make another bid for the starlet before the deadline passes for English clubs on Thursday.

In turn, that would suggest that Grealish will remain at Villa Park until January at least to lead their push up the Championship table, and that will undoubtedly be music to the ears of the club’s supporters.

Further, as seen in the tweet below from his brother Kevan, he has dismissed a report suggesting that Grealish was keen on a move to Spurs and so it would appear as though he will continue with Villa for the foreseeable future.

A move to Tottenham does have its appeal though given Mauricio Pochettino has played a key role in developing other young, English talents in the likes of Dele Alli and Harry Kane, and so perhaps a switch would have helped Grealish take his game to the next level.

However, provided Spurs don’t bid again on Thursday as suggested by Sky Sports, he’ll remain with his boyhood club for a little longer it seems.
