Key Barcelona duo linked with exits as Euro giants line up to raid Valverde’s squad

Barcelona could reportedly come under pressure to keep two star names at the Nou Camp, with Ousmane Dembele and Ivan Rakitic in demand.

The Catalan giants have enjoyed an impressive summer transfer window thus far, as although they’ve seen Andres Iniesta and Paulinho leave, Arthur, Clement Lenglet, Malcom and Arturo Vidal have all arrived.

That in turn has significantly bolstered Ernesto Valverde’s squad ahead of the new campaign, as he’ll be looking to build on their domestic double from last season while also making a bigger impression in Europe.

However, Mundo Deportivo claim that there could be doubts over whether or not Dembele will be part of that push as Paris Saint-Germain are said to be intensifying their pursuit of the French international.

It’s added that much will depend on whether or not the Ligue 1 champions make an offer which convinces Barcelona to sell.

Dembele, 21, endured a difficult first season at Barca, with injury woes limiting him to just 24 appearances in all competitions.

While it could be argued that having now had a year to settle and find his feet in Spain, he could kick on this season. However, it would appear that his future at the club could now be in doubt while the addition of Malcom perhaps pushes him down the pecking order too.

Meanwhile, Mundo Deportivo also claim that Bayern Munich have joined PSG and Monaco in a potential transfer scrap for Rakitic.

The 30-year-old has been a fundamental figure for Barcelona since he arrived from Sevilla in 2014, having gone on to make 214 appearances since and winning a whole host of trophies.

Rakitic has made a staggering 51 or more appearances in each of the last four campaigns. and so he’ll surely be seen as an indispensable figure moving forward.

Nevertheless, with Bayern tipped to offer him a lucrative contract, it remains to be seen if he can be prised away from the Nou Camp or not.
