Aston Villa hope to be third time lucky with loan swoop for Liverpool starlet

Aston Villa are reportedly keen to bolster their attacking options and are said to have set their sights on Liverpool winger Sheyi Ojo in a loan move.

The 21-year-old has continued to impress away from Merseyside after a handful of loan spells elsewhere and in turn, he could be set for another.

With competition for places fierce at Anfield, Ojo will undoubtedly struggle for regular playing time and at this stage of his career where he needs to play consistently to continue to develop his game, a loan exit elsewhere will surely make sense even if a little frustrating for him.

According to the Birmingham Mail, despite falling short in bids to land Harry Wilson and Ben Woodburn from Liverpool already this summer, Villa boss Steve Bruce is hoping that they’ll have a bit more luck with Ojo to strengthen his options out wide.

The Championship giants have made a positive start to the campaign with two wins and a draw in their opening three games, and so in order to build on that and keep the run going, Bruce will arguably be eager to bring in some new faces before the transfer window closes at the end of the month.

Ojo will certainly bring pace, movement and creativity out wide to the team, complementing the likes of Albert Odomah and Andre Green to ensure that Villa have enough depth to sustain their promotion push this season.

Having signed Axel Tuanzebe from Man Utd again this season, it’s seemingly a formula that Bruce will possibly revisit for Ojo, but it remains to be seen if he can be convinced over a move to Villa Park to further his career and strengthen his argument to force Jurgen Klopp into giving him chances at Liverpool in the future too.
