Sergio Busquets is aware that Barcelona are set to seal the signing of Frenkie De Jong from Ajax next summer and bring the young Dutchman to the Nou Camp.
This is according to Don Balon, who note that the Dutch giants are aware that this year will be the young midfielder’s last one with the club, and that next year, De Jong will be donning the colours of the Blaugrana.
The report also notes that Ajax have already given the go-ahead for De Jong to leave the club in the summer of 2019, something that makes it seem like the Dutch international is destined to move to Catalonia.
With Sergio Busquets not getting any younger, and stars like Sergi Samper failing to live up to expectations with Barca, signing De Jong looks to be a very wise move by the Spanish giants.
The 21-year-old has already shown during his time with Ajax that he’s capable of cutting against some of the best clubs that Holland has to offer.
The player’s composure on the ball is unparalleled, and his ability to pick out all types of passes should see him slot into Barca’s side very easily.
Barca look to be planning for the future given the player’s they’ve brought in this summer, and it looks like by acquiring De Jong, the club are set to continue this trend in future windows.
