Real Madrid are reportedly putting together a stunning package to seal the transfer of Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt.

According to Diario Gol, club president Florentino Perez is preparing to pay an initial fee of €75million to Ajax, plus €5m a year for the next five years and a further €10m in bonuses.

That would total €110m for De Ligt, who is one of the most talented young players in the world and surely set for a big future in the game at a leading European club.

The Netherlands international has also been linked by Bleacher Report with Manchester United, who may perhaps struggle to put together such a big offer.

This would be unfortunate for the Red Devils, who could really do with a long-term solution in defence to fix what has been a problem position for them for some time for the foreseeable future.

Barcelona have also been linked with De Ligt by Mundo Deportivo, but it makes sense that their biggest rivals may now be ready to go all out to beat them to his signature.
