Arsenal manager Unai Emery has angered a number of fans by naming new signing Denis Suarez on the bench, along with Mesut Ozil and Aaron Ramsey.
The Gunners boss has at least gone bold to some extent with the selection of both Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Alexandre Lacazette up front, but there doesn’t look much creativity in this side.
While Aubameyang and Lacazette are both quality finishers, they rely on better service than this current XI looks capable of giving, which is truly baffling given that Emery has three quality creative midfield players all among his substitutes.
Ozil and Ramsey have both been in and out of the side this season, so their lack of inclusion should perhaps not come as too much of a surprise.
Meanwhile, Suarez only just joined Arsenal from Barcelona, so it might make sense not to throw him straight into the first XI for his Premier League debut.
Still, Arsenal fans are not best pleased at these big calls by their manager for such a big game…
