A fine young defender impressing in the Bundesliga, RB Leipzig’s Konate has recently been linked with Liverpool by the Independent, along with other top clubs. Given the injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez this season, it’s clear more depth is needed in this position and Konate could be the ideal option.

Another promising young centre-back linked with Liverpool is Brighton ace White, who is said to be on their radar in a report from the Sunday World. One of White or Konate would be good business for Liverpool, but there’s an argument for bringing in both players and pushing the injury-prone Matip and Gomez down the pecking order.

The 26-year-old Argentine has shone in Serie A and could be the kind of midfield signing needed to replace the likes of Wijnaldum, Milner, Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain if they do all leave, as suggested above.

A second midfield signing that could be well-advised is Borussia Monchengladbach ace Zakaria. The Switzerland international looks likely to be on the move this summer, according to the print edition of Sport Bild, as translated by Sport Witness, with LFC mentioned as being among his main admirers.

Finally, the most exciting potential signing of all could well be PSG superstar Mbappe. The young Frenchman has been linked with Liverpool by Le Parisien and seems like just the kind of statement signing Klopp needs to spear-head his new-look side. If Firmino and numerous other players are sold, this deal might not be so unaffordable due to Mbappe nearing the final year of his contract at the Parc des Princes.
