Chelsea transfer target’s attitude questioned as deal moves closer to completion

Chelsea transfer target Enzo Fernandez looks to be edging closer to a move to the Premier League, but his attitude has now been questioned.

Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed to CaughtOffside via his Substack column that talks are at an advanced stage between Chelsea and Benfica midfielder Fernandez.

Todd Boehly looks to continue his strategy of signing younger, up-and-coming players, but Fernandez can also walk straight into this Chelsea side. The Argentine played a pivotal role in helping his country win the World Cup, so it’s no surprise that Boehly made a move for him in the January transfer window.

Now, a report from Sport Witness has claimed that reports in Portugal are questioning Fernandez’s attitude after he left Lisbon to fly to Argentina with no authorisation from his manager Roger Schmidt.

Chelsea fans will be hoping this sort of behaviour doesn’t carry over if he makes the move to Stamford Bridge.

The young midfielder clearly wanted to celebrate a little with his family back home especially after winning the biggest tournament in world football.
