Exclusive: “Good chance” of Liverpool transfer target leaving this summer – Fabrizio Romano

There’s a good chance of Piotr Zielinski leaving Napoli in the summer transfer window, according to Fabrizio Romano in today’s Daily Briefing exclusively for CaughtOffside.

The Poland international has had a fine career in Serie A and it would be intriguing to see what he could do in the Premier League, with Liverpool looking like a good fit for his style of play.

It remains to be seen what will happen with Zielinski this summer, but Romano thinks there’s a good chance he’ll be on the move, even if nothing is decided just yet.

The reporter also notes that Liverpool have been linked with Zielinski for many years, dating back as far as 2013, so it remains to be seen if the Reds necessarily have a stronger interest now than they have in the past.

The 28-year-old will be in the final year of his contract with Napoli this summer, though, so that surely changes his situation.

“Liverpool have been linked with Piotr Zielinski for a long time, since 2013 I think,” Romano said.

“We’re seeing those links again, but my understanding at the moment is that there’s nothing concrete.

“It’s almost impossible for agents, players or directors to discuss players’ futures with Napoli as they are 101% focused on the final part of the season.

“There is no interest in talks, contracts, or transfer plans. They have Serie A to win, they have the Champions League to focus on, and nothing is decided.

“Still, my personal feeling is that Zielinski in the summer will have a good chance to leave.”
