“How many chances…” – Pundit labels Spurs summer signing as “flop of the season”

Pundit Gabriel Agbonlahor ripped into Tottenham Hotspur’s Richarlison, labelling him as the “flop of the season” after their 2-1 defeat to Aston Villa.

Richarlison was taken off after 62 minutes after being named in Spurs’ starting eleven and was replaced by Dejan Kulusevski.

Everton sold the Brazilian to Tottenham last summer for a total of £60 million. In 25 Premier League games, he’s only scored once.

Speaking to TalkSport, Agbonlahor tore into the 26-year-old’s first season with Spurs and believes he’s been the worst signing of the season.

He stated, “Look at Richarlison how many chances is he going to have? For me, he is the flop of the season. He’s going to cost Spurs 60 million pounds, three goals in 33 games or competitions. A goal every 10 games, one goal 25 Premier League games. One goal since September, substituted again today, 59 minutes. You [Spurs] were a better team when he came off, flop of the season.”

It’s been a season to forget for the forward, he’s struggled to find the back of the net which for a player in his position is a massive worry.

However, with a new manager hopefully on its way this summer not all is lost for Richarlison. Perhaps a new boss could find a way to get the best out of him.

He has talent and showed that at the last World Cup. He averaged almost a goal a game for Brazil in Qatar at the end of last year.
