Arsenal still tracking 25-year-old ace despite three unsuccessful bids

Despite how well they’ve started off the current 2023/24 campaign, it appears that Mikel Arteta will stop at nothing in his quest for perfection from his Arsenal side.

That includes retaining an interest in a player for whom they’ve already had three bids turned down.

One of only two unbeaten sides in the Premier League this season, the Gunners are just two points behind league leaders, Tottenham Hotspur, the other team not to have lost a match so far.

It speaks well of Arteta’s work, particularly when taking into account the disappointment of losing out on the title in the home straight last season.

Being disappointed not to have won the trophy shows everyone how far the team have come and the mentality that now exists at the club, and that’s solely down to a manager that has fostered tremendous togetherness and team spirit.

That said, he isn’t frightened of putting noses out of joint if he feels it’s for the greater good. We only need look at the Raya/Ramsdale situation as proof of that.

If the club’s continued pursuit of Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz, per 90Min, continues, then ultimately there could be one or two other unhappy faces at the club in due course.

The report states that Villa have no intention of selling, however, if the player’s head gets turned, there’ll be little that they can do about it.
