Kobbie Mainoo has been a shining light in a tough season for Man United and the Premier League giants are set to reward the 18-year-old for his efforts.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United have prepared a new contract proposal for Mainoo and all parties have decided to advance the talks over a new deal after initial discussions took place.

Mainoo is set to become a crucial part of Erik ten Hag’s Man United project going forward following his impact this season and the new contract will see the midfielder get a salary rise.

The 18-year-old’s current contract expires in 2027 but the terms of that deal do not represent what the youngster will bring going forward for Man United.

Mainoo burst onto the scene this season with an impressive performance against Everton in the hostile environment of Goodison Park back in November and the youngster has continued to shine ever since.

The 18-year-old had the moment of his career last week against Wolves as the midfielder scored a last-minute winner to win the match for Man United.

The youngster has shown maturity beyond his years on the pitch and it looks like the Manchester club have a player on their hands that could go and do great things in the sport.
