Spurs in hunt for EPL winger but won’t overpay following £60m asking price

Spurs are among the sides interested in signing Pedro Neto.

The Portuguese winger is enjoying one of his best-ever campaigns. The 23-year-old, who has directly contributed to 11 league goals already, has been in fine form and remains Wolverhampton Wanderers’ best player.

However, despite his contract running until 2027, there is speculation the winger will be sold this summer.

Arsenal are rumoured to be long-time admirers with Ange Postecoglou also fancying his chances of bringing the attacker to London.

Could Spurs sign Pedro Neto?

Signing Neto won’t be easy though — according to a recent report from the Standard, Wolves are demanding at least £60 million for their number seven — a fee, which, according to journalist Ben Jacobs, is way beyond both clubs’ valuation.

“Even though they haven’t technically replaced Harry Kane, if they use Son or Richarlison to lead the line, and Timo Werner does stay permanently, maybe there is space in that Neto position,” Jacobs told GiveMeSport.

“So, I think that it is likely that Tottenham will be there and will rekindle that interest. But I also think there’s a £10m to £15m gulf between how suitors value Neto compared to the number Wolves want now.”

Wolves won’t be too concerned over the reported differences in valuation — the Midland giants are in a strong negotiating position and will know that any of the Premier League’s top six clubs can afford to meet their demands.

Not only that Antony’s £86 million move to Manchester United 18 months ago could be used the a perfect comparison. Neto is also Premier League-proven — a valuable trait for any club considering such an expensive signing.

Since joining Wolves, Neto, who has represented Portugal on five occasions, has scored 14 goals and registered 24 assists in 130 games in all competitions.

  1. £60m? Think you’re behind the times with this one.. Allegedly City, United, Arsenal and Liverpool lead the chase with bidding to start at around £90m, IF Wolves do decide to cash in. Despite all the nonsense consistently put around these sites Wolves are not a feeder club for the so called top six with their own ambitions and under no pressure to sell.

  2. Netos contract runs until 2028 and the £60m is actually £80m with his agent saying clubs wanting him will have to pay nearer £100m plus, he’s too good for a tin pot club like spurs who “FINK” they are big because they are in landan.
Same goes for ars-enal, he needs a much bigger club than them somebody like Barcelona, Juventus or Real Madrid.
