Another major coup for Crystal Palace as 24-year-old powerhouse signs on until 2029

Although it’s not been the greatest season for Crystal Palace in 2023/24 by any stretch, there are reasons for the South Londoners to be cheerful.

Oliver Glasner’s hire, for example, could transform the Eagles in the remaining games this season, and whilst a European finish is totally out of the question, mid-table safety will be just fine at this point.

Roy Hodgson’s time had come, and it is to his great credit that he stepped aside for Glasner rather than making a show of things.

Given that he was taken ill around the time of the announcement, it was clearly the correct decision for the 76-year-old to have made – before he was pushed.

In 13th place on 28 points and with 12 games left to play, Palace can just concentrate on finishing the campaign as high as possible before a decent summer holiday and total reset.

Cheick Doucoure signs on at Crystal Palace for another five years

They’ll be doing so in the knowledge that powerhouse midfielder, Cheick Doucoure will remain at the club for another five years, having signed a new deal with the club according to Fabrizio Romano.

As transfer expert and CaughtOffside columnist, Romano, states, Liverpool were one of a number of clubs that were keeping tabs on the 24-year-old’s situation just incase there was a chance that he could be persuaded to leave the Selhurst Park outfit.
