According to The Sun, the addition of David Moyes’ son to the staff strongly suggests that his father will be offered a new contract.
While it seems unlikely for Moyes’ son to join if his father were to leave shortly after, the board has yet to make a final decision regarding Moyes’ contract extension.
Moyes remains a divisive figure among West Ham fans. Despite notable achievements in East London, concerns linger over his team’s style of play, with many feeling that the Hammers should be in a more favourable position this season.
The prevailing sentiment among the majority of fans is that he should not continue in his role at the start of the next season.
David Moyes to remain at West Ham
In many ways, David Moyes is very much a victim of his own success. West Ham are consistently inconsistent year upon year.
In the Scotsman’s first full season with the Hammers he steered them to a sixth place finish in the 2020/21 campaign. The following season they finished seventh before placing 14th the term after. And of course in the 2022/23 season the Hammers lifted the UEFA Europa Conference trophy.
Now, West Ham are firmly in seventh and could yet finish inside the top six.
