‘Easy’ – BBC man shares who will get promoted Leeds or Leicester

Posted by

BBC reporter Phil McNulty has backed Leeds United to win the Championship ahead of Leicester City and gain promotion back to the Premier League.

Former Premier League champions Leicester City looked like winning the Championship easily at one stage but their poor form and the revival of Leeds United’s form has turned things around in the second tier of English football.

The Whites are currently leading the standings even though they have the same points as Leicester. Their superior goal difference gives them an edge over Enzo Maresca’s team, however, the Foxes have a game in hand.

Leeds are leading the Championship

Although the top two teams in England’s second division will go to the Premier League, Farke and Enzo Maresca will be eager to see their teams lift a trophy by winning the Championship.

BBC reporter McNulty has made his prediction on the outcome of the Championship season. He believes Daniel Farke’s men will take first place.

Leeds United could gain promotion to the Premier League

He told GiveMeSport:

“I think Leeds United will win the Championship while Leicester City and Southampton will go up with them. Can I add as a bit of fence-sitter that I only say the Leeds bit with confidence because I think any of those behind them could go up? As usual, the Championship is a brilliant division.”

Ipswich are not far behind Leeds and Leicester

To predict the winner of the Championship is a difficult task as not only these two teams, but also Ipswich Town could win the second division.

Ipswich are currently just one point behind Leeds and Leicester and just a few results going their way could see them taking first place.

All the clubs are desperate to gain promotion to the Premier League as it helps them attract better players and helps them financially.

Georginio Rutter, Archie Gray, and Crysencio Summerville, the star performers for the Whites, will surely want to push themselves to the limit and test themselves in England’s top division.
