Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing the West Ham United attacker Mohammed Kudus at the end of the season.

The 23-year-old has been in exceptional form for the Hammers this season and he has 17 goals and seven assists in all competitions. According to Ibrahim Sannie Daara from GhanaSoccerNet, Liverpool are set to trigger the £85 million release clause in the attacker’s contract.

Apparently, Liverpool have already initiated contact regarding a potential move and it remains to be seen whether they can secure an agreement with the player on personal terms.

Clubs like Arsenal, Manchester City, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have all made initial enquiries about the player as well. It seems that Liverpool are keen on securing his signature and remains to be seen whether they can beat the competition from the top European clubs and get the deal done.

Liverpool would do well to sign Mohammed Kudus

It is no secret that Liverpool will need to improve their attacking options at the end of the season. Kudus will add goals and creativity to the side. He is also also versatile enough to operate anywhere across the front three. The attacker is at the peak of his powers right now and he has shown his quality in the Premier League. He will look to make an instant impact at Liverpool if the transfer goes through.

Meanwhile, Arsenal need a versatile attacker in the summer and Kudus would be a superb acquisition. His arrival will allow Mikel Arteta to rotate players like Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli. It remains to be seen whether Arsenal are prepared to pay £85 million for him at the end of the season.

Although West Ham will not want to lose a key player like him, they will be powerless to stop him from leaving if clubs decide to trigger his release clause.

  2. There is no 85m release clause.

No club has a release clause in year 1. The release clause doesn’t activate until 2025.
