Aston Villa produced a dramatic comeback to draw 3-3 with Liverpool on Monday night and the star of the show was Jhon Duran, who may want to join Chelsea this summer.

The forward came off the bench to score a late brace to help Villa come from 3-1 down and the goals were his seventh and eighth of the season.

The 20-year-old has been a backup to Ollie Watkins and has only received 366 minutes of action in the Premier League this season. The Colombian star understandably would like to play more and it seems that he is thinking of a move this summer.

One club that has been interested in Duran in the past is Chelsea and going off of the player’s social media activity, the Villa star would be open to moving to Stamford Bridge.

The 20-year-old’s likes section on X is full of Chelsea-related content and many fans have taken that as a hint that the Blues may sign the forward ahead of the 2024/25 campaign.

Chelsea wanted Aston Villa’s Jhon Duran in January

Chelsea are in the market for a striker this summer and are expected to bring in a marquee name over the coming months. The West London club may also sign a backup and that’s where Duran may be acquired.

The Blues had an interest in the Aston Villa star during the January window but never submitted an offer, reports Sky Sports. Chelsea had financial issues to worry about during the winter but will work around that this summer.

Villa would likely accept a bid if the Blues submitted a reasonable proposal but it remains to be seen if the Premier League giants make an official move as they failed to do so in January.

  1. I would keep him but if he wants to go and pass up the chance of playing Champions league he must be nuts but if that’s what he wants let him go for a big fee. There will be plenty of choice of elite players in the summer, Champions league a massive draw it doesn’t get any better

  2. Let him go and swap him fir Connor Gallagher. He will only end up on the bench sitting next to Chuckhisdummyout.
