Man United are believed to be considering retaining Erik ten Hag as their manager for next season despite reports last week stating that the Dutch coach will be sacked regardless of the result in the FA Cup final.
In the build-up to the Wembley showpiece, The Guardian stated that Man United have already decided to sack Ten Hag following the underwhelming campaign experienced at Old Trafford, which saw the Red Devils finish eighth in the Premier League.
However, United would go on to beat rivals Man City at Wembley, which has made sacking Ten Hag that little bit harder.
According to Manchester Evening News, Man United are believed to be considering keeping their current manager with club officials notifying representatives of potential replacements that they have not discounted the possibility of retaining the Dutchman.
The Manchester club are conducting their review of the season this week and until that is concluded, no decision will be made on the 52-year-old’s future at Old Trafford.
Man United cannot let FA Cup win influence Erik ten Hag decision
Saturday’s FA Cup final was a great day for everyone associated with Man United but the hierarchy at the Premier League giants cannot let the victory influence the decision that needs to be made regarding the future of Ten Hag.
This season was a very poor one for the Red Devils and the Dutch coach was unable to fix their situation across the entire campaign. That is a very bad sign and with so many top managers available, the Manchester club need to move this summer before they are swept up.
MEN report that Man United have assessed a number of possible successors and have held dialogue with intermediaries in recent weeks.
Thomas Tuchel or Roberto De Zerbi would be very exciting appointments for United, with The Guardian reporting on Monday that the Italian has been sounded out for the manager’s role at Old Trafford. This would be a great move for the Red Devils to make as the Brighton boss is one of the best young managers in the game at present.
I have supported Manchester united for 20 years, and all I can say is all true utd fan’s want Eric Ten hag to stay as our manager. So all the shit talk about fan’s wanting him out and some dope from northern Ireland # Cairan McKenna 😆 to take over is 💩 talk. ✌️
Pls leave ten hag
Have people forgotten Sir Alex’s early EPL record – 11th, 2nd, 11th, and 13th (also with an FA Cup win BTW!)??
Give the man another year on this project.
Have you not noticed how much the world of football its financing has changed over the past 35 years. there is no longer any room for sentimentality or wishful thinking.
If there was anything in the teams performances that indicated Ten Hag has made progress in any way this season it might be different but every metric has gone backwards.
It’s so bad almost the whole squad almost is up for sale.
Keeping him on in the hope that history repeats itself is no reason justification.
So why should he be given a chance?
I agree with you …sentiments not needed this is modern day football
The club lacked a typical striker.
United need to change half of the squad… how many managers must come in and out before the haters understand? It’s really obvious! And if ten Hag remains then the journalist from the guardian should get fired for spreading fake news before FA cup final, which I’m 100% sure got paid by man city’s owners 😉 but what to expect from sheikhs with complete disregard of humanity 😀
Ten Haag is 100% the right man to bring back glory to Manchester United . Anyone who understands football knows this . The club was a complete mess when he arrived , he told us it would take time and he was right .
3 finals in 2 years , 2 Trophys , young quality youngsters coming through, improving the academy.
He’s our New but very different Alex Ferguson.
Trust the process , In Erik We Trust ❤️
I doubt that United have presented it in any different way since they started reaching out to other managers.
No doubt there are significant legal reasons why they are following such a course (employment and contract law can be so tricky) presumably to ensure they keep the clubs costs regarding this matter to a minimum
Eric is a very good manager, what could one do with under pressure of the majority of the senior team, on the injury table, my honest opinion, give him a chance to get his first team in order, then we can conclude.
Why are Man Utd under pressure with the manager have a look at Newcastle no euro cup competition a bad season in the league Man Utd with the same amount of points but no one calls out Howe Chelsea did get rid of their manager. Give the team and the manager a break.
Keep Ten Hag, otherwise we’re going backwards, he said it would take time . He deserves another season at least then judge him , our problem is we were spoilt with the success of sir Alex, look at Chelsea and arsenal, not been any great great shake’s have they. Will fans say the same things about Liverpool’s manager if it doesn’t work out in his first season, I doubt it
Eric is the right manager to bring this club back to glory days
Erik ten hang is a good coach indeed, but his problem is that, he don’t have a pattern of playing and i believe man utd will love playing with formation of 4.4.2 from history rather than 4.2.3.1 of modern generation thank you.
How about a return to an attacking format like 5. 3. 2 as long as we can get another Peter Schmeichel as the rock with a very solid pair of defenders with a Nemanja Vidić equivalent and a midfield that has a Paul Scholes/Roy Keane equivalent. No wonder we had the best football team in the world years ago with players like them. We also had a Cantona, Beckham, Giggs, Irwin, Ferdinand and many many other high class players.
you gotta nothing to say…you still live in the past…we’re talking about onana and maguire not vidic and cantona
Eric Eric Eric ever….a champion twice in three finals. Why no E.T.Hag.. More time for him
Thomas Tuchel will be the best manager at united right now. Because he’s full of experience and is ready for more trophies for united. Please let united go for him, i believe that he is the right choice for united.
never……2years coach…..if ten hag doesnt leave…we are ok…if he leaves…welcome zerbi
zerbi
i think man u fans should forget about sir alex past….its 10 years ago…we shound now focus on the failure of last 10 years not glories of 2 decades ago…..and to ten hag….my only concern is why are players getting more injured than before…..that makes me doubt him….i think his harsh training costed the team performance….in general he is a good coach…but if Manchester retain him..he should check on training and tactics..if he get sacked…club should not go to poch since he is allergic to trophies…tuchel occasionally has a word with top management and that makes me doubt him.to tranfers department…Manchester can check on young coach like de zerbi…very potential….look at arsenal….in squad development…club should sell several deadwoods….thank God lazy martial is out…..club should sell old players….AWB should go…poor in attacks….Dalot should have a compeetive first teamer than him…like Dumfries or frimpong…center back….Martinez should have good options..i doubt him because he is customer to doctors room…club should buy good center back..experienced once not this sorts of english players like tosin jerrad…no experience…..luke shaw should have a best option due to his injuries….malacia should tell us if he want to play or go….in midfield alll except scot bruno and mainoo should go…Manchester should buy young creative players in midfield …not the sorts of amadou onana…flops….joao neves is good option…bruno gumaraies is good option….encizo from brightion has got pitential….i hate english players so much…good potential but they fade so fast..they hide in big games….i wish sabitzer should have stayed….club should sign atleast 3 mids..good ones…in forward…Manchester should do anything possible to sell troublsome and lazy rashford….antony is good player ..we may regret if he goes….if teams perform well he will be good…sancho should go…lazy ….manchester should look for young kids like barcola….mitoma…and one expericed winger like Rodrigo or sane…in striker position..club should buy forward who is mutiposition….can play in any position….look at lautaro Martinez….weghorst was smary in that….goals were just problem….been i still love him…i hope we find another multiposition striker like him…all in alll club should play possesion based football if we want to dominate premier league……legendary players like keane…neville and rio should focus on their coaching and avoid presurizing club coach…good luck Manchester…thank you ..Manchester .true fan from kenya…east africa
The worst part of erik, is lack of subtitution (method).
