As Arsenal continue to build a squad capable of sustained domestic and European dominance, their recruitment department has reportedly set its sights on St James’ Park.

According to BBC, the Gunners are closely monitoring the situation of Newcastle United full-back Tino Livramento.

With the Magpies currently languishing in 12th place in the Premier League and facing the very real prospect of missing out on lucrative European football entirely, a summer fire sale on Tyneside is becoming increasingly probable.

Arsenal appear perfectly positioned to capitalise on this financial vulnerability, with the highly-rated England international topping their defensive wishlist.

Arsenal are in the market for a new full-back

Arsenal’s interest in the 23-year-old is heavily tied to the uncertain future of Ben White.

With White reportedly considering his options in search of more consistent playing time, sporting director Andrea Berta has identified Livramento as an ideal, long-term successor on the right side of the defense.

Despite his undeniable talent and attacking prowess, Livramento’s 2025/26 campaign has been severely disrupted by persistent injury issues.

Consequently, Arsenal’s hierarchy is carefully evaluating his medical history before fully committing to a formal approach.

Gunners have several Newcastle players on their radar

Interestingly, Livramento is not the only Newcastle star currently on Arsenal’s radar. The North London club’s ambitious summer plans reportedly involve a multi-player raid.

The Gunners retain a serious, long-standing interest in winger Anthony Gordon, having heavily considered a move for him in the summer of 2024.

Furthermore, Sandro Tonali has emerged as a potential target to bolster Mikel Arteta’s engine room.

Newcastle’s failure to secure Champions League football could force the Italian playmaker to seek an exit, with Arsenal holding preliminary talks with his representatives earlier this year.

However, the Magpies remain stubborn negotiators, reportedly demanding a staggering £100 million each for both Gordon and Tonali.

The Gunners are clearly prepared to aggressively exploit Newcastle’s current precarious standing to finalise their championship-winning puzzle.

  1. NUFC may sell one of those names in the summer. and its only needed if Newcastle want to make a big money signing themselves, otherwise they dont have to sell anyone 🙄

  2. There’s a poor intellectual capacity in identifying quality players from the side of Arsenal coaching crew.
We have been on this problem for a while now. Series of wrong purchases we made in the past are difficult to offload, so Arteta has become a bit manipulative by starving good academy players of action so as to sell them, as that is the only way of getting huge amount of money from the market.
Lewis-Skelly has been ever present in all our historic big wins since last season, especially if Martinelli is on the wide position. The 5-1 and 3 nil spanking of both Man City and Real Madrid last season, all featured Lewis-Skelly; this season we have beaten Atletico Madrid 4 nil; both Bayern and Inter Milan, 3-1, with Lewis-Skelly and Martinelli playing big roles. We hardly get such results with any of Calafiori or Hincapie on the left full back.
It will be suicidal to sell any of Lewis-Skelly, Martinelli or Nwaneri in the Summer. Arsenal should be looking on the part of Iraola as Arteta replacement. His bad decisions has already cost us two trophies.
