Manchester United are interested in signing the Argentine midfielder Exequiel Palacios from Bayer Leverkusen.
The 27-year-old has done quite well in Germany, and he could prove to be an interesting acquisition for the Manchester club.
They need to find a quality replacement for Casemiro, and they believe the South American would be the ideal option.
He will help shield the back four and break up opposition attacking moves. Manchester United believe that he is a “complete player” who could help them dominate midfield contests.

Exequiel Palcios could cost a premium
Meanwhile, reports from Spain claim that negotiations could begin at €50 million. Manchester United certainly have the financial muscle to get the deal done.
Convincing the player is unlikely to be too difficult either. He will want to take the next step in his career, and joining one of the biggest clubs in the world will be exciting.
Palacios is at the peak of his career, and this is the right time for him to take on a new challenge. He has also been linked with Liverpool in the past.

Man City remain keen on Palacios
Meanwhile, Manchester City are keeping tabs on his situation as well. It will be interesting to see if they come forward with an offer to sign him. He could be the ideal backup option to Rodri.
Palacios will be hoping to play a regular role at this stage of his career, and moving to Manchester United might be ideal for him. He is likely to be guaranteed a starting role at Old Trafford.
The 27-year-old can operate as a defensive or central midfielder. He will also add control and composure to the team. It remains to be seen where he ends up eventually.
