Man United not expecting any bids this summer for overrated flop

It certainly hasn’t been the best season of Marcus Rashford’s Man United career. Far from it in fact.

Since the beginning of the 2023/24 campaign, the England international has only managed to find the net on eight occasions in all competitions for the Red Devils, per WhoScored, and he has provided two assists.

That’s in stark contrast to the 29 goals and eight assists from last season (WhoScored), and hints at an incredible drop off in form.

Man United not expecting Rashford bids

It’s no wonder then that the club might be thinking the previous unthinkable, and would entertain bids for their academy product.

Back in January, Rashford phoned in sick for training, but then footage came to light of him partying in a Northern Ireland nightclub and going on a 12-hour tequila bender, per The Telegraph.

He has also recently been spotted cosying up to a Colombian model in another nightclub say The Sun, suggesting that, perhaps, Rashford still hasn’t learned his lesson.

Marcus Rashford could leave Manchester United this summer.

In any event, United are willing to let Rashford go, but as ESPN report, the club don’t believe anyone will meet their £70m+ valuation as well as pay the player’s exorbitant wages.

Perhaps a new manager, should Sir Jim Ratcliffe decide to part ways with Erik ten Hag, could be just what Rashford needs in order to be able to recapture his form of 12+ months ago.

At that point he was a shoo-in for the starting XI, but something has clearly changed and now he can’t be aggrieved if left amongst the substitutes for any of United’s games.

It’s difficult to remember a player whose form has suffered so badly in what is essentially a really short space of time, and that lack of confidence really does need to be addressed if Rashford is going to get anywhere close to the form that made him so threatening for club and country.
