This source suggests that a Serie A club is keen on a player at the Emirates, who few fans would lose any sleep over if he was allowed to move to Turin.

The Juventus coach Claudio Ranieri is under pressure after his mediocre start to the season, and most of the fans put it down to the lack of cover in defence.

The summer signings of Mellberg and Poulsen are seen as average players at best, and have hardly strengthened their very shaky back line.

The Old Lady tried hard to sign Chelsea’s Ivanovic at the end of the transfer window, but the London club refused to play ball. New coach Felipe Scolari told the Serbian defender he was definitely part of his plans for this season, and he has kept his word.

Now it is being reported in Italy that Juventus have decided to make a new move for Arsenal’s Emanuel Eboue after giving up on Ivanovic. The Ivory Coast defender is out of favour at Arsenal, and is now just used as cover on the right-midfield or simply as backup for William Gallas, which is not working out for either side.

Eboue would jump at the chance to move to a big club like Juventus, as long as they promised him regular football in his favoured position. (footylatest.com)

If there was one player Wenger could afford to offload from his impressive, if underperforming, squad, then it would be Eboue. It seemed to take a while for Arsene to listen to reason and put the Ivorian on the bench, not part of the first team, and even though the adaptable player has improved in recent months, he is still nowhere near the standard you would expect at the club. Do Gunners fans feel it’s time for the boss to cut his losses and sell Emmanuel?
