United States national team boss Jurgen Klinsmann is reportedly a surprise contender in the running to replace David Moyes as Everton boss according to the Daily Star.

The 48 year old German footballing legend has seen his betting odds to take over at Goodison Park drop from 950/1 to 4/1 in recent days and could be high up on Bill Kenwright’s list of potential managerial targets.

Klinsmann enjoyed cult status in England during his two spells at Tottenham and enjoyed success across Europe as well as being a World Cup and European Championship winner with his national team.

Jurgen Klinsmann has enjoyed success as manager of the German national team and is helping to make the US a more competitive force in world football and may well be interested in taking the Toffees post.

The German is still behind the likes of Roberto Martinez, Alan Stubbs, Malky Mackay and Neil Lennon, who are all hotly tipped as potential Everton successors to Moyes, who has taken over from Sir Alex Ferguson at Old Trafford after 11 years in post.
