Everton skipper Phil Jagielka says that recent new loan signing Romelu Lukaku is such a handful to mark that he tries to avoid coming up against the giant Belgium in training with the Toffees, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The powerful 20-year-old moved to Goodison Park from Chelsea on a season-long loan on transfer deadline day, and already Lukaku has proved to be a massive hit with the Everton fans after making a great start to life on Merseyside.

The Belgium international has managed to find the back of the net on three occasions in just his first two Premier League outings for his new team, with Jagielka saying: “He’s definitely a handful.

“He has all the attributes and he loves playing football, and if you put it all together, then it can lead to some interesting days on the training pitch for us defenders.

“He’s a real presence up front. Obviously he wasn’t quite getting the nod at Chelsea and that’s made him even hungrier than he was last season [when the Londoners loaned him to West Brom].

“He’s a fantastic acquisition for us. He’s a great player and has probably taken us up to that next level. If he can keep himself fit and keep himself confident, he could be great for us.”
