The France international has been the north London club’s first choice goalkeeper ever since he ousted Brad Friedel upon his arrival back in 2012.

But sources in his native France have claimed that Lloris has emerged as a top target for Monaco this summer as they look to land a top quality goalkeeper if they make it to the Champions League as expected.

Spurs currently lie in fifth place in the Barclay’s Premier League, six points off Liverpool in fourth, and Lloris is believed to be keen to test himself in Europe’s most elite club competition.

The White Heart Lane outfit have only feature in the Champions League once, where they made it to the quarter finals in 2010-11 before being knocked out by Real Madrid.

And should he depart the new manager, whoever he may be, will be left looking for a new first choice stopper as Brad Friedel turns 42 and third choice Heurelho Gomes looks set to move on after not turning out for the club since 2011.
