Liverpool are ready to offer £20m for Valencia midfielder Dani Parejo according to Football Direct News.

Anfield boss Brendan Rodgers wants to bring in the box to box performer to offer a fresh midfield option, an area that the Northern Irish manager doesn’t have a great many alternatives at present.

Currently the likes of Steven Gerrard, Jordan Henderson, Joe Allen and Lucas Leiva vie for positions in the starting eleven so Rodgers is understandably looking at bringing in a new addition and Parejo would be a sensible signing to consider.

The former Real Madrid man is into his third season at the Mestalla and the good form he’s shown this term has led him to the fringes of a first senior Spanish national team cap.

Rodgers is apparently set to be handed a £60m transfer war-chest if he can secure that all important Champions League berth for next term.

Valencia are thought to be after £30m for Parejo but their well publicized financial problems may well lead them to accept £20m for the talented schemer.
