Everton boss Roberto Martinez is planning for life after Romelu Lukaku by lining up a £9m bid for in-form Sevilla striker Carlos Bacca according to the Daily Mirror.

The Toffees may not have the funds to make loaned in forward Lukaku a permanent addition and therefore it’s wise for the Merseyside club to make plans accordingly and there is no denying Colombian international Bacca’s undoubted potential.

The 22 year old is enjoying his first season in Spain, thus far having netted 14 goals in 24 starts, including most recently a brace that helped his side to a surprise win over Real Madrid.

The departing Lukaku will leave something of a void and the fact that Martinez will also lose fellow loaned in attackers Gerard Deulofeu and Lacina Traore could lead the Spanish manager to make multiple moves in the summer transfer window.

Prior to his move to Spain Bacca scored 31 goals in 54 appearances for Belgian side Club Brugge and the young striker is likely to be part of José Pékerman’s 2014 World Cup finals squad.
